We hope that you'll find the new site useful and easy to use.  Most of the information is protected for our privacy so you must be a member of Troop 1989, and have a username and password to enjoy the rich content within the site. Northern Tier (June 29 - July 11, 2106):  I have closed the registration for the 2016 Northern Tier trek.  If you want to be added to our list, you must contact Joe Kurrila.  He will attempt to adjust our crews as necessary to gain the additional spaces. ~ Frank Baum

THE BSA MUSEUM HAS POSTED SEPTEMBER MERIT BADGES OPPORTUNITIES. THEY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Personal Management, Family Life, Nuclear Science, Sustainability, Moviemaking, Radio, Communication, Public Speaking, Energy, Soil & Water, Astronomy, and Law.  The cost of the workshop is $20. The National Scouting Museum is located at 1329 W. Walnut Hill Lane, Irving, Texas 75038. To enroll, please call Elaine Bressman at 972-580-2466. You will need to provide the following information Scout Name, Troop number, phone number, and email address. If you choose to do a program through the Museum, please send a request to Ms. Crank to open a blue card for the merit badge. Merit Badges taken at the Museum require the Scout Masters signature on the blue cards to sign-up.

Disabilities Awareness Merit Badge April 6th - Scouts, Adults, and Siblings

On Monday, April 6th we will be continuing to work I n the Disabilities Awareness Merit Badge.  We will have a guest Merit Badge Instructor Ms. Laurie Poetschke.   We will be meeting on the first floor in the church where we have the Saturday breakfasts.

Current and former Scouts, age 14 to 19, can write a short essay (800 words or fewer) for a chance to win $1,000 for themselves and $500 for their Scout unit.
