We hope that you'll find the new site useful and easy to use.  Most of the information is protected for our privacy so you must be a member of Troop 1989, and have a username and password to enjoy the rich content within the site. Constructive feedback to the webmaster, please.  Visitors, we invite you to review the "About Us" link on the left to learn more about Troop 1989, and to browse through Photo Album on the right to see some of the fun adventures we've enjoyed as a group.

Sticky:  Critical Dates and Payments:

Summer Camp (June 12- 18):  Registration is closed.  Any outstanding fees are overdue.  Please pay in full if you are in arrears.

Northern Tier (June 29 - July 11):  Registration closed.  If you want to be added to our wait list, contact Joe Kurilla.

Troop Campout (July 15-17) - Register NLT July 11th.

Just a reminder, in case you missed it on the calendar.  No meeting this Monday, May 30th, due to the Memorial Day long weekend.  Please be safe over the holiday weekend.

Swim Check #3

Chris Davidson is holding our third swim check of the year.  You must complete a swim check if you are attending Northern Tier.  You should take a swim check if you are attending summer camp or if you plan on participating in any water activities that we hold throughout the next year.  Sign-up here.

THE BSA MUSEUM HAS POSTED FEBRUARY MERIT BADGES OPPORTUNITIES.

THE BSA MUSEUM HAS POSTED FEBRUARY MERIT BADGES OPPORTUNITIES. THEY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:  Astronomy, Chess, Citizenship in the Nation, Communication, Cooking, Environmental Science, Family Life, Indian Lore, Oceanography, Personal Management, Radio, Signs, Signals, & Codes, and Sustainability.   The cost of the workshop is $20. The National Scouting Museum is located at 1329 W. Walnut Hill Lane, Irving, Texas 75038. To enroll, please call Elaine Bressman at 972-580-2466. You will need to provide the following information Scout Name, Troop number, phone number, and email address. If you choose to do a program through the Museum, please send a request to Ms. Crank to open a blue card for the merit badge. Merit Badges taken at the Museum require the Scout Masters signature on the blue cards to sign-up.

Window opens for 2015 Eagle Scout scholarships; deadline now Oct. 31

College is expensive. The National Eagle Scout Association wants to help.

The window for 2015 Eagle Scout scholarships — offering cash for college to those who have earned Scouting’s highest honor — is now open. The deadline to apply is earlier this year; applications must be received by Oct. 31, 2015.

Family Life Merit Badge

Disabilities Awareness Merit Badge April 6th - Scouts, Adults, and Siblings

On Monday, April 6th we will be continuing to work I n the Disabilities Awareness Merit Badge.  We will have a guest Merit Badge Instructor Ms. Laurie Poetschke.   We will be meeting on the first floor in the church where we have the Saturday breakfasts.
