Disabilities Awareness Merit Badge March 30th and April 6th - Scouts, Adults, and Siblings

On Monday March 30th and April 6th we will be working on the Disabilities Awareness Merit Badge.  We will have a guest Merit Badge Instructor Ms. Laurie Poetschke.  Both her daughter and I will be assisting her with this merit badge.  We will be meeting on the first floor in the church where we have the Saturday breakfasts.

Next Monday's meeting is a normal Troop Meeting.  We will be starting the Disabilities Awareness Merit Badge.  Mrs. Crank will be the MB counselor.

THE BSA MUSEUM HAS POSTED MAY MERIT BADGES OPPORTUNITIES. THEY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Astronomy, Scouting Heritage, Traffic Safety, Cooking, Citizenship in the Nation, Soil and Water, Energy, Digital Technology, and Citizenship in the World. The cost of the workshop Is $20. The National Scouting Museum is located at 1329 W. Walnut Hill Lane, Irving, Texas 75038. To enroll, please call Elaine Bressman at 972-580-2466. You will need to provide the following information Scout Name, Troop number, phone number, and email address. If you choose to do a program through the Museum, please send a request to Ms. Crank to open a blue card for the merit badge. Merit Badges taken at the Museum require the Scout Masters signature on the blue cards to sign-up.

Attention Philmont Trekkers:  Each Philmont crew is required to have two certified people (Adult or Youth)... but we need as many trainined as possible.  Multiple sessions have been added to the Troop 1989 calendar, so please find one that fits your schedule and sign up today as spots are limited.  Certification is good for two years, so this will also cover your 2016 high adventure event, too.
